Root canals can be a frightening experience and can encourage dental anxiety in anyone of any age. Thankfully, root canals are more advanced than people realize and are incredibly safe, pain-free, and efficient.
Evaluating and Isolating Your Tooth
The first thing we’ll do is look at your tooth carefully to figure out the best way to tackle the procedure. We’ll use a specialized cloth to isolate the tooth to ensure we properly isolate the right tooth.
Removing the Decay
After we evaluate and isolate the tooth, we can begin removing the decay. Still, before we do anything, we’ll ensure you cannot feel anything at all by providing a form of anesthetic. After the anesthetic takes effect, we will use a drill and other various tools to remove the decay from your tooth.
Correcting the Tooth
While the anesthetic is in effect, and after your tooth is cleaned, we’ll fill your tooth with a rubber-like substance called gutta-percha, which is a safe and durable permanent bond. Then the space your tooth was in is then closed with a temporary crown or filling.
Root canals can inspire dental anxiety, but advances in technology have made them far safer. If you believe you may need a root canal in Jupiter, ask us about your options at your next appointment!
