Forward-Thinking Dental Innovations

Dentist offices looked very different 20 or 30 years ago. Apart from aesthetics, the technologies used were advanced for their time; however, the field has come a long way since then. At Premier Dentistry of the Palm Beaches, we are pleased to provide newer dental innovations, allowing our patients to experience first-rate care that is comfortable, convenient, and accurate. Read on to find out more about the dental technology we use in West Palm Beach.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

If you or a loved one needs help to remain calm during an appointment, we can recommend nitrous oxide sedation. Mild in its effects, the solution creates a more relaxed feeling while in the chair, allowing you to undergo dental treatment without feeling nervous, stressed, or scared. Instead of worrying about what the dentist is doing, you will remain at ease while we work to improve your oral health and well-being. The best part is that once the mask is removed, you will be back to your normal self in a matter of minutes.

Digital Impressions

Taking a digital impression of teeth

Cold dental putty is still used in many dental offices today to capture a patient’s impressions. Unfortunately, this method can produce less-than-accurate models. Instead, our handheld device makes it easy to quickly scan your teeth and gums, generating a 3D image on a chairside monitor. This allows us to make modifications before sending it to a dental lab where technicians will begin fabricating your new restoration.

Intraoral Cameras

You can now see what our dentist sees thanks to our intraoral camera. Used to not only pinpoint smaller areas of decay but also serve as an educational tool for patients, the handheld device takes images of your smile and projects them onto a chairside screen in real time. There, you and a member of our team can examine your teeth and gums to better understand the state of your oral anatomy and what is required to ensure it remains in the best possible shape.
